Jan De Nul's Voltaire leaves shipyard in China

news-details

Voltaire left the COSCO Shipping Shipyard in China and is currently heading for the United Arab Emirates.

With her crane capacity of 3,200 tonnes, four immense legs of 131.94 metres, and capacity to lift 16,000 tonnes of useful cargo out of the water, Voltaire is the world’s tallest jack-up installation vessel. Her innovative design makes the vessel highly suitable for the installation of next-generation wind farms.

Voltaire will be showing its best for the first time in the Dogger Bank project, off the English coast. This is set to be the world’s largest offshore windfarm that will generate enough energy to power over 6 million UK homes.
